Clunker Math

Think of it this way:

A clunker that travels 12,000 miles a year at 15 mpg uses 800 gallons of gas a year.
A vehicle that travels 12,000 miles a year at 25 mpg uses 480 gallons a year.
So, the average Cash for Clunkers transaction will reduce US gasoline
consumption by 320 gallons per year.
They claim 700,000 vehicles so that's 224 million gallons saved per year.

That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil.
5 million barrels is about 5 hours worth of US consumption.
More importantly, 5 million barrels of oil at $70 per barrel costs about $350 million dollars
So, the government paid $3 billion of our tax dollars to save $350 million
We spent $8.57 for every dollar saved.
I'm pretty sure they will do a great job with health care, though.

Communist Obama Still at It

The Idiot in Chief proposes to give new power to the federal government that would restrict rate increases that health care insurers could charge. Everything this communist does gives more power to government while diminishing our freedoms. Nothing Obama does benefits the country and he relies on uneducated, selfish, government-dependent fools to support him. Of course, so far the welfare slobs love Obama for these actions.
We have a free market system that, when implemented, works for everyone. No company of any type with competitors can exact an arbitrary price. Free market means there is competition free of government interference. For Obama to suggest insurers can and do charge any price at a whim shows his complete ignorance of the free market. More likely he does know the free market and despises it in favor of his own unchecked communist power.
Obama must be opposed and stopped at the ballot box or, preferably by impeachment because we cannot survive his economy-killing stupidity.
